With less than a month to go to GPSNR’s General Assembly (GA) 2020, the Secretariat has published an Information Booklet for all GPSNR members, containing key details around the event, including proposed resolutions and a list of candidates running for the Executive Committee Elections.

This year’s GA will be convened virtually on 23 September 2020. GPSNR Ordinary Members will go to the polls two weeks before the event, to cast their votes on proposed resolutions which include, amongst others, the formation of a new membership category for natural rubber smallholders, and a policy framework for natural rubber production and sourcing for GPSNR member companies. Each membership category will also elect representatives to fill upcoming vacancies in the Executive Committee.

Members may access the GA Info Booklet via the mailer that was sent out on Friday, 21 August 2020. Any members encountering issues with the mailer and links may reach out to the Secretariat (info@gpsnr.org) for assistance.

SAVE THE DATE – GPSNR General Assembly 2021

Dear Members,

We would like to invite you to block your diaries for the GPSNR General Assembly 2021, which we are planning for the week of the 11th to 15th October 2021.

Should the situation allow, we aim to have a hybrid General Assembly this year, with stakeholders joining both physically in Singapore and virtually across the globe.

While the team at the secretariat prepares for the assembly in the next few months, please do reach out if you have any questions. In the meantime, save the date in your calendars.

Speak soon,

Stefano

GPSNR Statement of Support for Gender Equality

The Global Platform for Sustainable Natural Rubber (GPSNR) recognizes the valuable contributions women make to the natural rubber industry and affirms its commitment to fostering an inclusive and sustainable sector. We believe that all individuals, regardless of gender, should have equal opportunities to participate in and benefit from the sector.

As part of this commitment, GPSNR has prioritized gender inclusivity in its capacity-building initiatives, ensuring that women benefit from our projects. To date, 43.49% of the 14,000 smallholders who benefitted through GPSNR’s initiatives are women. We will continue to integrate and prioritize gender inclusivity Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in relevant sustainability initiatives, ensuring that women have equal representation and access to opportunities. These efforts will help create an environment where all participants can contribute to and benefit from the growth of the sector.

GPSNR is committed to advancing social sustainability alongside environmental goals, recognizing that the well-being of all stakeholders is essential for long-term success in the rubber industry. By supporting gender inclusivity, GPSNR seeks to contribute to a more equitable and sustainable future for the entire natural rubber value chain.
