A review of Transparency & Traceability Tools and Solutions is published here & a study on Spatial Data & Mapping Tools for Detecting Deforestation and Threats to HCVS Areas in Rubber Production Landscapes is published here. These were commissioned by the T&T working group.

March

The Policy Toolbox Working Group has selected a combined consultant team of Proforest and Are We There Yet to lead the development of the Implementation Guidance for GPSNR.

April

The Strategy and Objectives Working Group finalises the Desired State document which defines the ideal outcomes and conditions that we aim to create in the natural rubber value chain.

March/April

WG 1 launched a call for a consultant to lead the development of the compliance panel.

June

GPSNR launched the natural rubber industry’s first ever grievance mechanism. The process provides a platform to address complaints against its members. It also creates a space for collaboration, improved relations and amicable and meaningful solutions amongst stakeholders in the natural rubber value chain.

July

The Capacity Building working group opens up projects for funding from companies in the natural rubber value chain in three countries.

GPSNR hosts our first fully virtual workshop to onboard smallholders from Indonesia. The workshop was a strong success, with 25 smallholders submitting applications to become members of the platform.

September

The first set of GPSNR companies aligned their policies with the GPSNR policy framework, exactly one year after the policy framework was voted in by the 2020 General Assembly.

November

The capacity building working group’s Agroforestry Taskforce finalises GPSNR’s official position on agroforestry as a nature based solution for climate change ahead of COP 26.
